June 6, 2004: In another step forward towards its active lobbying for the rights of the disabled, Arushi undertook the compilation of concessions and facilities available for children with disabilities that have been issued from time to time by the state and central governments and Public Utility Services.
The Rajya Shiksha Kendra, Madhya Pradesh, published this compilation called 'Aadhaar'.
The booklet, besides providing Persons with Disabilities Act 1995, covers information and details of facilities and concessions provided by the MHRD, departments of School Education, Higher Education, Social Welfare, Tribal, SC, ST, Health, Income Tax, Post and Telegraph, Custom and Central Exercise and also by PUSs such as, Indian Airlines, Indian Railways and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
- Arushi's involvement saw the opening of India's first disabled friendly bank - a branch of the Central Bank of India, Bhopal.
- Efforts by Arushi helped to make the Bhopal railway station completely disabled friendly, the first and only one in India, so far.
- In an effort to make railway stations and trains more accessible, copies of the Railway Time Table were made in Braille and a special Notice Board with the time table in Braille was also installed at Habibganj railway station. With Arushi efforts, Bhopal Express became the first ever train to have its seat numbers in Braille.
